RELEASE NOTES

Changelog

Everything that has shipped, newest first — the same notes the app shows you the first time you open a new version. 126 things added, 54 things that stopped going wrong.

1.2.5

October 2026Latest

Step through previews with the arrow keys.

  • Up / Down arrow keys step through previews

While a track previews in the timeline's browser, press the Up or Down arrow key to preview the track above or below it, from the same point in the song, and the list scrolls to keep it in view. The keys do nothing while you type in the search or BPM boxes.

  • The previewing track stands out

While a preview plays, the other rows in the browser dim, and come back up as you hover them.

Fixed

  • A tidier browser at its default width

On a narrow browser, BPM and date sit on one short line under the title instead of squeezing it to a few letters, and the Mixes with and Fits buttons show when you hover a row. Widen the panel to get them as aligned columns. LIBRARY has its own line again, with the source picker and Add under it, and the filter chips wrap instead of pushing the sort chip off the edge.

1.2.4

October 2026Patch

Mixes with, inside any rekordbox playlist.

  • Browse a rekordbox playlist or folder on the timeline

With the rekordbox collection open in the timeline's browser, a Playlist bar sits under the header. Click it for your rekordbox playlists in their folders: pick a playlist, or click a folder's name to take every playlist in it. Search, the key and BPM filters and Mixes with all work inside it, so you can find what mixes with a track from one crate. The × on the bar goes back to every track.

  • Sort the Mixes with results

Mixes with now starts on the MATCH order (closest mix first), and the sort chip reorders the results: MATCH, A–Z, BPM, KEY, NEW.

  • Dates in the browser, in tidy columns

Each track in the timeline's browser shows its artist with BPM and the date it was added in columns at the end of the line, so they line up down the list.

Fixed

  • The clip menu stays put on the way to a submenu

Moving from a row like Cues ▸ to its submenu could brush the row next to it and swap or close the submenu. Now an open submenu only changes once the pointer rests on another row, and reaching the submenu keeps it open.

1.2.3

October 2026Patch

rekordbox cues on the beat, and a way to clear them.

  • Clear a clip's cues

Right-click a clip on the timeline ▸ Cues: Clear Hot Cues, Clear Memory Cues and Clear All Cues remove them in one go, loops included. Each row shows how many there are and only appears when the clip has some. Undo brings them back.

Fixed

  • rekordbox cues land on the beat

Cues brought in from rekordbox could sit a few milliseconds off the timeline's beat lines when the clip used QNTZ's grid instead of rekordbox's. Each cue now lands on the same beat it marks in rekordbox. Clips already in a set keep their old cues: clear them from the clip menu and drop the track again.

  • Clicking beside a cue places the cursor

A click near a cue's line down in a clip grabbed the cue, so the cursor couldn't go on the beat right next to it. Now only the flag at the top of the line picks up a cue; anywhere else in the clip, a click places the cursor as usual.

1.2.2

October 2026Patch

Your rekordbox cues come with the track.

  • rekordbox hot cues and memory cues on drop

Drag a track from your rekordbox collection onto the timeline and the hot cues and memory cues you set in rekordbox come with it — loops, names and colors included. They appear on the clip a moment after it lands, the status line says how many came over, and they go back out with the export. Settings ▸ rekordbox Cues has a switch for each, Bring Hot Cues and Bring Memory Cues, both on to start.

Fixed

  • No freeze on the first drop after launch

Dropping a track on the timeline while QNTZ was still finding rekordbox's analysis files could hang the app for seconds on a big collection. That search now runs in the background.

  • Smoother drags from Finder and Explorer

A file dragged in from Finder or Explorer has its tags read once per drag instead of on every pointer move, so the preview follows the pointer smoothly.

1.2.1

October 2026Patch

rekordbox folders in the Library, and a tidier clip menu.

  • rekordbox playlist folders, and a playlist filter

In the Library's sidebar, rekordbox playlists now sit in their rekordbox folders, in rekordbox's order, and so do the playlists on a rekordbox USB stick. Click a folder to open or close it; the MIDI browse knob steps through folders too. Type in the new Filter playlists… box above PLAYLISTS to narrow your QNTZ, rekordbox and USB playlists by name: a folder's name keeps everything in it, and any folder holding a match opens on its own.

  • The clip menu, sorted by what it changes

Right-click a clip on the timeline: Cut, Copy and Paste sit at the top, then one menu per subject: Cues, Transition, Key & Level, Tempo & Grid, Position and Clip, plus Stems and Automation when they apply. Key & Level and Tempo & Grid show the clip's current key shift, gain or grid editing beside their names, so you can see what's changed without opening them. While you edit a grid, Done Editing Grid is the first row.

  • Level to Next Track

Key & Level ▸ Level to Next Track, in a clip's right-click menu, matches the clip's loudness to the track that plays after it, next to Level to Previous Track.

  • Buttons in the qntzdj.com blue

Lit buttons and toggles (Play, Assistant, Sign in, checkboxes, filter chips) use the deeper blue from qntzdj.com with white text, so they read clearly against the dark panels.

1.2.0

September 2026

Record your XDJ set straight into QNTZ.

  • Record the players to your timeline

While Broadcast Library to Players is on (File ▸ Broadcast Library to Players), a LINK strip at the top of Live mode shows each player: its track, BPM and pitch, ON AIR, MASTER and the time left. Press ● REC on the strip, choose Network or USB, play your set, and press STOP: QNTZ rebuilds it as an editable set. Tracks from QNTZ and from a USB stick in the player land where you played them, with their rekordbox beat grid, at the tempo you played them, tempo rides included. Loops, hot-cue and beat jumps, and backspins come through, and your fader, crossfader, EQ, TRIM, Beat FX and Sound Color FX moves become automation. Over the player's USB cable, QNTZ also records the player's own audio on a bottom track, muted: unmute it to compare with the rebuild.

  • The XDJ-AZ works with Broadcast Library to Players

The XDJ-AZ now browses and loads your QNTZ library over Wi-Fi or a network cable, as it does with rekordbox, with its RGB and 3-band waveforms. On Windows, QNTZ now broadcasts on every network connection, including a cable straight into the player, so the player finds it with Wi-Fi on or off.

  • The XDJ-AZ's FILTER, and CF.A / CF.B Beat FX channels

In recordings from the XDJ-AZ, the Sound Color FX FILTER now sweeps and resonates like the player's, with PARAMETER setting how intense it is. The Beat FX channel chips in Live mode's FX display add CF.A and CF.B, as on the XDJ-AZ: the effect goes to the decks assigned to that side of the crossfader.

  • Live mode fits your screen

On a laptop screen the waveforms, sidebars, deck info, mixer and key wheel now size to the window, so the waveforms stay tall and nothing is cut off. When the window is too narrow for both, the mixer and FX share a column behind a MIXER | FX switch. Drag the divider or a sidebar edge and your size is kept.

  • Hide tracks on disconnected drives

Settings ▸ Account ▸ Library ▸ Hide tracks on disconnected drives, or the Hide offline chip beside Live mode's filter box, leaves tracks on an unplugged drive out of every list and count. Plug the drive back in and they return. Broadcast Library to Players never offers those tracks to the players, whatever the setting.

1.1.0

September 2026

Live mode, redesigned.

  • Live mode, redesigned

Live mode has a new layout. Beside the two waveforms, a column per deck shows the deck, where its track is from, the KEY and BEAT JUMP size in large type, and Q. A bar counter sits by each playhead, and the two half waveforms face each other. Under them, each deck gets a card with its title, ON AIR while it's playing and up, the remaining time in large type (click it for elapsed), the overview with its cue marks and, when rekordbox analysed the track, its phrases in colour, and a BPM box with MASTER, the tempo range and the pitch. Every deck control is still there. The Half | Full and MIXER switches moved to the Live mode header, so the decks start at the top.

  • Beat FX reads like the mixer's screen

Beat FX is a display beside the deck cards: the BPM with AUTO, the effect's name in large type (click it to pick another), the beat with ◀ ▶, the time in ms, the X-PAD beats, the channel (A, B or MST) and a big ON that pulses on the beat. Sound Color FX are lit tiles: click one to turn it on, and click the lit one again to turn it off. LEVEL and PARAMETER sit under them. The mixer strip is narrower now that the FX have moved out, and its channels run flush from top to bottom.

  • Name your hot cues

Each deck card lists its hot cues: the letter in the cue's colour and its name, or the bar it sits on ("17.1 Bars") until you name it. Click a name to rename it: Enter saves it with the track's cues, Escape keeps the old name, and an empty name clears it. A named cue's pad shows its name too.

  • A MASTER knob and meter on the mixer

The mixer strip has an MST column like a DJM's: a stereo meter with held peaks and a clip light, and a MASTER knob for the main volume, the same one as the Main track's. Straight up is 0 dB, fully clockwise +6 dB, and a double-click puts it back at 0 dB. Recordings are taken before it, so turning it down for the room never turns down the recording. Learn it onto a controller knob as Master Volume (Settings ▸ Controller ▸ Mixer). When Live mode is too narrow for the mixer and the FX display side by side (1280 px with both sidebars open), the mixer strip gets a MIXER | FX switch, so the deck cards keep their width.

  • Resize Live mode's sidebars, and Half or Full waveforms

Drag the edge of Live mode's left sidebar or the track info column on the right to make it the width you want; double-click an edge to put it back. The decks' waveforms come in two sizes, like rekordbox's: Half shows the top half of the waveform, compact, and Full shows the whole waveform twice as tall, for DJing from the screen. Switch with the Half | Full chip above the decks, Edit ▸ Toggle Full Waveforms (⌘⌥W on Mac, Ctrl+Alt+W on Windows), a controller button you learn, or the edge under the decks: drag it and it snaps to the other size, or double-click it. Each window keeps its own layout, docked and popped out, and it's there next time. Dragging a track list by its header now carries the whole list, at full height.

  • Tracks on an unplugged drive stay on screen

With the drive your music is on unplugged, its tracks keep their waveforms, BPM, key, grid and cues, in the timeline and in the library. Their clips are hatched and marked Offline, their library rows are dimmed and say which drive they're on, and the sidebar lists the drive and how many of your tracks are on it. Previewing or loading one says which drive to connect, set playback plays them as silence and tells you once, and an export stops before writing anything, naming the drive. Plug the drive back in and everything plays again, with no restart. Renamed the drive or moved the files? File ▸ Find Missing Files… finds them.

Fixed

  • Tab always switches between Timeline and Live

With two or more track lists open in Live mode, Tab moved between the lists instead of switching views. Tab now switches between Timeline and Live wherever you are, like ⌘⇧L (Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows), except while you're typing in a box. Shift+Tab still moves to the previous track list, and Next Pane can be given a key in Settings ▸ Shortcuts.

  • The two deck cards are always the same height

Moving a deck's tempo showed RESET, which pushed MT onto a second line and made that deck's card taller than the other. The BPM box keeps its two rows now, and both cards always match.

  • Every effect name fits its button

In Live mode’s FX display, DUB ECHO and GATE/COMP were cut off in the Sound Color FX buttons, which also sat three to a row instead of four. The buttons are four to a row again and the two long names wrap onto two lines, in full. The Beat FX list opens wide enough for TRIPLET FILTER too.

  • Dragging a track onto a deck loads that track

An imported track and a library folder’s copy of the same file are two rows. Dragging the imported one onto a deck could load the folder’s copy instead, without the imported track’s BPM, key and cues, while LOAD got it right. A drag now loads the row you dragged.

  • Untagged tracks show the BPM and key QNTZ found

A track whose file carries no BPM or key tags (most WAVs) showed “–” for both until QNTZ analysed it again in that session, two tracks at a time, even when it had been analysed before; the Duplicates view never showed them at all. They now appear as soon as the library loads, everywhere. A track from a library folder also says so, instead of reading “From rekordbox”.

  • CRUSH keeps the low end clean, like a Pioneer mixer

Turned left, CRUSH now crushes like a DJM's: the sound above the bass gets bit- and sample-rate-crushed, harder the further you turn, while the kick and the sub underneath stay exactly as they were. It used to overdrive the whole signal, which smeared the low end into mush.

  • Remove all extra copies removes what it says

The Duplicates view counted the same song in rekordbox's collection, on a USB stick or in the cloud as a copy to remove, so "Remove all extra copies" could report over a thousand removed while taking out only a few, and the list looked unchanged. It now lists only the copies in your QNTZ library, removes exactly those, says how many really left, and the list updates at once.

  • Drives in the Library sidebar show their name again

A drive holding a rekordbox export, with Import and Eject beside it, showed only "rekordbox + Import ⏏ Eject": its own name was squeezed out. It reads "MY PASSPORT" again, with a small RB (rekordbox export) or USB badge, and ⏏ ejects it. A network drive that's slow to list (a NAS) no longer says "reading…" forever.

  • Build my first blend stays quiet when it can't find a pair

On the Welcome card, Build my first blend no longer posts "Import a few tracks first…" when it can't find two tracks to blend.

1.0.2

September 2026Patch

QNTZ's cache takes a fraction of the space.

  • QNTZ's cache takes a fraction of the space

Waveforms are kept about 8× smaller and look the same, and stems are kept as 16-bit FLAC instead of 24-bit WAV. A couple of minutes after QNTZ starts, it removes the waveforms of files that are gone or unused for 90 days, and keeps the rest under a cap: 2 GB for waveforms, 3 GB for stems, least recently used first. Existing caches are converted in the background. Settings ▸ Storage (⌘, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows) shows what each takes, with a Clear button, the caps and Show in Finder / Explorer.

1.0.1

September 2026Patch

Your set, as a playlist in Live mode.

  • This Set, in Live mode

The top of PLAYLISTS in Live mode's sidebar, and every pane's source menu, now have This Set: the set you have open, as the playlist a USB export would write. It has the same tracks in the same order, a song played twice listed once, and edits and muted tracks handled as the export handles them. It follows the timeline as you change it. Load, drag, Maybe and re-analyze its rows like any others; a track that's only on the timeline, in no library, still loads from its file. Edit the set itself on the timeline.

Fixed

  • The welcome card's text fits

On the first-run Welcome to QNTZ card, the steps' descriptions ("QNTZ lines up the phrase, swaps the bass, rides the EQs…") ran out past the card's right edge. They wrap inside it now.

  • Playlists work when you're signed in: they're kept on your computer

Signed in, a new playlist could fail to appear after you pressed OK — it went to your account, and an account still on the invite-only waitlist, or a failed refresh, left it missing without a word. On the desktop your library now works the same signed in or out: playlists are kept on this computer, importing from rekordbox brings tracks into your library here, and Push to rekordbox and Export to USB send that library and its playlists. Playlists you'd made in your account are copied here the first time you sign in. If a playlist action can't be done, QNTZ now says why.

1.0.0

September 2026

Live mode's decks play like a pair of CDJs, and a mix you play can come back as a set you can edit.

  • Pioneer XDJ all-in-ones map themselves

Plug in an XDJ-RR, RX2, RX or AZ in its controller (MIDI) mode and it drives the decks in Live mode (click Live in the Timeline / Live switch, or press Tab or ⌘⇧L, Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows): transport, jogs, the 14-bit tempo fader, TRIM, EQ, channel faders and crossfader, loops, the pad modes, memory cues, TRACK SEARCH and the whole Sound Color FX and Beat FX section, with the buttons lit. The on-screen mixer takes the unit's fader and knob positions as it reports them, and dims a control until it has. The RR has been tested on real hardware; the RX, RX2 and AZ are mapped from AlphaTheta's published charts.

  • Every DDJ mapped from its official chart

The DDJ-FLX4, 400, 200, SB3, FLX6, 800 and 1000 now map much more than play, cue and the faders: TRIM, loops, the pad modes, CUE/LOOP CALL, Beat FX and the browser's LOAD buttons, as far as each unit has them. SHIFT + a hot cue pad deletes that cue. On the FLX4, 400 and SB3, SHIFT + the left LOAD button adds the selected track to Maybes (or takes it out) and SHIFT + the right one cycles the Library layout. The DDJ-FLX10 is new. These maps come from AlphaTheta's MIDI charts and haven't been tried on the hardware yet — if a control does the wrong thing, please report it.

  • SYNC works like a CDJ's

SYNC now locks the beat, not only the tempo: the deck takes the master deck's tempo, snaps into phase (bar-aligned when both tracks have a grid) and holds it there. QNTZ picks the master for you — the deck on air — and hands it over when that deck stops or fades out; the MASTER button on each deck takes it by hand. SYNC stays on through loads, cues, loops and pauses until you turn it off.

  • QUANTIZE, TEMPO RANGE and a tempo magnet per deck

Each deck has its own Q button for quantized cues, loops and beat jumps — one setting for both decks while an XDJ-RR, RX2 or RX (one QUANTIZE button) is connected, or as you choose under Settings ▸ Controller ▸ Decks ▸ Quantize — and its own TEMPO RANGE: ±6, ±10, ±16 % or WIDE, where the tempo can snap to whole BPMs. The tempo magnet locks a tempo fader onto the other deck's BPM when you bring it close (125.00, not 125.03), and the BPM readout turns green while it holds. Set it to Off, Tight or Wide under Settings ▸ Controller ▸ Tempo.

  • The hardware tempo fader picks up

When something other than the controller's tempo fader moves a deck's tempo — SYNC handing over the master, the on-screen fader, the keys, the magnet — the fader no longer jumps the tempo to wherever it sits. It takes over once you move it through the deck's tempo, with no jump, and a ▲ or ▼ by the BPM shows which way to move it. TEMPO RESET hands it straight back.

  • Double or halve a BPM, and it stays

BPM ×2 / ½ fixes a track read at half or double time: the ÷2 and ×2 buttons in GRID, the deck's ⋯ menu, or SHIFT + TEMPO RANGE on the XDJ-RX and DDJ-800 (and any control you map). The auto choice goes the way that lands nearer the other deck's tempo, and pressing it again goes back. The downbeat stays where it was, the grid saves at once, a SYNCed deck locks on again, and a loop keeps its length. A BPM you set by hand — ×2 / ½ or any GRID edit — stays exactly as you set it after a restart: the BPM range never folds it.

  • MASTER TEMPO, scratching and backspins

MASTER TEMPO (key lock) is per deck: turn it off and the pitch follows the tempo, like a turntable. With it on, a jog nudge bends the tempo and the key holds. In VINYL mode a touched platter scratches, and a backspin you let go of keeps spinning, then plays on at the deck's tempo — inside a loop, it stays in the loop. Hold SEARCH to scrub. The C key works like a CDJ's CUE button: hold it to preview from the cue, let go to return.

  • Loops, slip and reverse

The pads have four modes — HOT CUE, BEAT LOOP, SLIP LOOP and BEAT JUMP — on the controller and on screen. LOOP IN and OUT mark the loop on the waveform as you place them, with RELOOP/EXIT, ½× and 2×. SLIP keeps the track running underneath loops, scratches and REVERSE. Store an active loop as a memory cue and calling it brings the loop back. Shift-click an on-screen hot cue pad to delete it. Edit ▸ Toggle Deck Controls (⌘⌥P, Ctrl+Alt+P on Windows) shows the on-screen pads and loop row.

  • Smooth deck waveforms, and zoom

The deck waveforms move at your display's frame rate, 60 or 120 a second, instead of in steps. Two SYNCed decks draw the same width per beat, so their beat lines meet at the playhead. Zoom from 2 to 128 beats across the lane with ⌥= / ⌥- (Alt+= / Alt+- on Windows), ⌘-scroll (Ctrl-scroll on Windows) over a deck, SHIFT + the browse knob on a controller, or the Deck Zoom setting.

  • Every Color FX and Beat FX from the XDJs

The mixer strip (⌘⌥M, Ctrl+Alt+M on Windows) has TRIM, EQ, COLOR and a fader per deck, and an FX panel. Sound Color FX: FILTER, NOISE, DUB ECHO, PITCH, CRUSH, SWEEP, GATE/COMP and SPACE. Beat FX, on the beat and sent to deck A, deck B or the master: ECHO, DELAY, REVERB, FLANGER, PHASER, SPIRAL, TRANS, ROLL, PITCH, PING PONG, FILTER, TRIPLET FILTER, TRIPLET ROLL, HELIX and MOBIUS. Press the lit Color FX type again, on screen or on the controller, to turn Color FX off. An output ceiling stops any effect from clipping the master.

  • Crossfader curve, off switch and channel assign

The chip on the crossfader picks OFF, SMOOTH or SHARP. OFF passes both decks at full level and keeps the fader's position for when it's back on. Each channel has an A · THRU · B assign, like a DJM. On the XDJ-RR, RX2 and RX, the CROSS F. CURVE switch sets it from the hardware.

  • Any learned control can fire on a hold

In Settings ▸ Controller, a control you MIDI-learn can fire on a press or on a hold, with a hold time you set (100–3000 ms, 600 by default). A control that already does something on a press keeps doing it on a tap, and does the learned action when you hold it. On the XDJ-RR, learn BPM ×2 / ½ (auto) onto TEMPO RANGE as a hold: a tap still changes the range, a hold doubles or halves the BPM. Learning onto a control that's already taken offers this for you.

  • Load Lock

Settings ▸ Controller ▸ Decks ▸ Load Lock stops a playing deck from taking a new track — from LOAD, the keys, a drop or TRACK SEARCH — so a stray press can't cut off the song on air. A paused deck, or one held on CUE, loads as usual. A small lock shows by each deck's letter while it's on. It's off by default, and Toggle Load Lock can be mapped to a controller button.

  • A quick tour of Live mode

The first time you open 1.0.0, the Live half of the Timeline / Live switch lights up with a short card on what's there: the decks, SYNC, loops, FX, recording and the split-view library, with your controller mapping itself. Open Live mode goes straight there; Later or Esc closes it. QNTZ ▸ Show Live mode tour brings it back.

  • Record your mix

The REC button in the Live mode header (⌘⌥R, Ctrl+Alt+R on Windows) records what the decks play to WAV, FLAC or MP3 (320 kbps) — any or all of them — with a tracklist as .txt and .cue. Starting arms it: the take begins on the first PLAY on either deck, and Esc disarms it without writing anything. The file stays playable if QNTZ crashes mid-take, and an existing file is never overwritten.

  • Record to Timeline

Pick Record to Timeline in the REC panel and, after STOP, QNTZ rebuilds what you played as a set you can edit: a track per song, a clip per stretch you played, loops as repeated clips, and your fader, EQ, Color FX and Beat FX moves as automation on the same effects. Scratches and backspins come back as rendered audio clips. QNTZ then plays the rebuild against the recording and marks any spans that differ with amber cues. It works without recording audio too.

  • Color FX and Beat FX on timeline tracks

A track's More ▾ menu opens Color FX, Beat FX and Trim lanes. The first FX lane adds the decks' effects to the track — Color FX before the fader, Beat FX after it — and it sounds sample for sample like the Live mode channel, in playback and in the export. The Pan lane is gone: it never changed the sound. Sets saved with one open without it.

  • Split the Library up to four ways

Show one, two, three or four track lists at once from the header's layout switcher, or cycle layouts with ⌘⌥K (Ctrl+Alt+K on Windows). Drag a pane by its header to swap it with another. Any pane can show three new lists: Maybes (press M to add or remove a track), Mixes well with (links first, then key and tempo matches for the picked track or a deck) and Deck history.

  • Select many tracks, drag them anywhere

⌘-click (Ctrl-click on Windows) and Shift-click select several tracks; Edit ▸ Select All (⌘A, Ctrl+A) takes the whole list. Drag them onto a playlist or a deck, or right-click for one menu that acts on all of them. Any track can be rated now, and Re-analyze Track in the track menu runs the analysis again — a grid you set by hand is kept unless you choose to replace it. A new Location column shows where each file lives, and Size and Duration fill in for local files.

  • Clean up duplicates

The Duplicates list picks the copy to keep in each group — the one with cues, playlists or links, then the better file — and Remove all extra copies clears the rest after asking. Playlist places, cues, links and ratings move onto the kept copy, with Undo. Files on disk are never deleted. Numbered renders of one song show as possible versions and are never removed unless you pick one to keep.

  • Skip sample folders on import

When an import finds folders that look like samples — Samples, Loops, One Shots, Splice, or hundreds of short files — it stops and asks which to skip. Settings ▸ Account ▸ Skipped folders keeps the list, and Always Skip on Import… in the track menu adds a track's folder.

  • Broadcast your library to players (experimental)

File ▸ Broadcast Library to Players (LINK) lets XDJ and CDJ players on the same network browse and load your QNTZ library, the way they browse rekordbox over LINK. It works with the XDJ-RR over its USB cable too: plug it in, turn Broadcast on and pick LINK on the RR. It's still experimental on other players, so quit rekordbox first.

  • Drum & bass reads 174

The default BPM range is now 88–176 (it was 80–160), so drum & bass and dubstep read 174 on a new install instead of halving to 87. A 75 BPM track still reads 150.

Fixed

  • Grid edits work on imported tracks

Align beat here, Downbeat here, TAP and BPM entry did nothing on a track from your imported library, while the status line said the grid was aligned. They work now, and the grid is kept.

  • Cues and ratings stick on every track

Hot cues and memory cues were only kept for cloud tracks, and rating a local, rekordbox or USB track was refused. QNTZ now keeps both in its own library, so they survive a restart. rekordbox's database and the stick are never written.

  • A fast tempo-fader sweep doesn't click

Every pass through ±0 % on the tempo fader made a click, several in a fast sweep. The sweep is smooth now.

  • Dropped local tracks land

Dragging an imported track onto a playlist or a deck did nothing, without a word. It adds or loads now, and a playlist drop says when a track was already there.

  • Mixes panes hold still

A Mixes pane beside a scrolling list jumped as analysis finished other tracks, and listed the same song several times. It keeps its place now, and one song's versions fold into one row you can open out.

  • Space doesn't start the set behind the decks

In Live mode, Space and the other set transport keys could start the timeline behind the decks. They do nothing there now, and the timeline's transport bar steps aside.

  • PLAY no longer fires a hot cue

An XDJ-RR can send a hot cue pad's note along with PLAY, so PLAY also set or jumped a hot cue. QNTZ drops a pad note that arrives within a few milliseconds of PLAY. For any other button that misbehaves, Settings ▸ Controller ▸ Ignored Inputs ▸ Ignore a Faulty Button… drops the message you pick.

  • MIDI learn never steals a control

Learning a control that already drove something else deleted that mapping without a word. Now learn refuses, names what the control drives, and offers to use it as a hold instead.

  • A deck keeps its track when its list goes away

A track loaded from a rekordbox collection or stick browsed without importing lost its place on the deck when that list was refreshed or ejected: the deck played on untitled, and Align Downbeat to Playhead and the other grid edits did nothing. The deck keeps its track now, and the edits work.

  • Stopping a Pro DJ Link recording doesn't freeze QNTZ

Stopping Record from Pro DJ Link could freeze QNTZ while it finished pulling a track off the player — for good if the player stopped answering, as an XDJ-AZ could. STOP now returns at once. The status line counts the files still coming, pressing the REC shortcut again skips them, and the set is built from what arrived.

Share a set's link and whoever opens it is in the set with you: everyone's edits land as they happen, and each person's playhead and pointer show in their own color. The Follow toggle decides whether a peer's play, pause and seek move your view too. Dropped connections rejoin on their own and pick the session back up.

  • QNTZ runs in the browser now

The full editor — timeline, decks, stems, analysis — runs in a browser tab, no install. It's an invite-only beta: sign up and you're on the waitlist, and invites go out as it hardens. Importing from rekordbox, playlists and Export to USB (CDJ and XDJ-AZ/OPUS sticks) all work from the browser too.

  • DJ controllers work now

Plug a MIDI controller into the computer and it drives the Library decks: play, cue, sync, hot cue pads, memory cues, jog wheels, channel faders and the crossfader. Twelve controllers map themselves the moment you plug them in — Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, FLX6, 200, 400, SB3, 800 and 1000, Numark Mixtrack Pro/Platinum FX, Hercules Inpulse 200 and 500, Roland DJ-202, Denon MC4000 and Reloop Beatmix MK2. The maps come from each maker's published MIDI spec. Desktop only.

  • Map any other controller yourself

Settings ▸ Controller lists every deck control. Click one, press or move the control on your hardware, and it's mapped — the same way you rebind a key. Right-click a pad's box to clear it. Your own mappings always win over a built-in profile.

  • Jog wheels nudge and scrub

While a deck plays, turning its jog bends the tempo a touch and eases back — the beatmatching nudge. While it's paused, the jog scrubs through the track. Channel faders and the crossfader ride the same equal-power curve the on-screen crossfader uses.

  • Smart Crates

Save a library filter as a crate: a BPM range, Camelot keys, an energy band (1–10), genres, or “not used in any saved mix”. The crate fills itself and keeps up — as analysis lands on new tracks, the ones that qualify appear in it.

  • The set's energy, drawn over the minimap

An arc across the minimap traces how hard the set drives, bar by bar, so a flat middle or a too-early peak shows at a glance. Edit ▸ Export Set Stats renders a shareable card of the set — energy arc, BPM ramp and key journey — as a PNG (desktop only).

  • Nudge clips by beat, bar or phrase

⌥←/→ (Alt on Windows) nudges the selected clip one grid step, ⌥⇧ a bar, ⌘⌥ (Ctrl+Alt) a whole 8-bar phrase. Press P and drags snap to phrase boundaries too, so drops land where the track actually turns.

  • A/B a mix decision

⌘⇧A (Ctrl+Shift+A) captures the set as it stands. Try the other idea — a different transition, a moved mix point — then flip between the two takes until one wins.

Fixed

  • Linux: USB sticks show up wherever they mount

QNTZ only looked in /media/<user>/ for sticks, the Ubuntu and Fedora default. A stick mounted at /media/STICK or /mnt was missed — or worse, its folders showed up as drives with no playlists on them. QNTZ now reads the system's mount table, so sticks, drives and network shares show up however they were mounted.

  • A stick that can't be fully read says so

When a stick's exportLibrary.db exists but can't be opened, QNTZ used to fall back to the older export.pdb without a word — and your newest export looked missing. The stick still lists, but a note under its name now says the newer database couldn't be read.

  • Deck buttons say why when they can't act

Pressing a hot cue pad, memory cue or play on an empty deck — or when no audio output would open — did nothing, silently. The status bar now says what's missing: load a track first, or pick an audio device in Settings.

  • Shortcuts survive a lost focus

After a file dialog closed (or an input box blurred), keyboard focus could land on nothing and every app shortcut went dead until you clicked the arrangement. The set window now takes focus back on its own.

  • Recording a set leaves your controller alone

Pro DJ Link recording grabbed the first MIDI port it found when no XDJ or DJM was there — which could be your controller, filling the session log with its messages. It now captures mixer MIDI only from gear that is a mixer.

Stems: play just the vocal, or everything but it.

  • Solo the acapella or the instrumental

Right-click a clip ▸ Stem ▸ Solo Acapella or Solo Instrumental. QNTZ separates the track on this computer with a neural model — the first use downloads it (about 66 MB) — and the clip swaps to the stem as soon as it's ready: a chip on the clip shows progress, playback picks up the stem mid-play, and the waveform redraws to match. Stems are heard in playback and rendered into bounces and the set's audio export. A track copied to a stick or pushed to rekordbox keeps the full mix — the stem is a set edit, not a changed file. Desktop only.

  • Stems are ready before you ask

Tracks in the set separate quietly in the background, newest drops first, so a stem solo is usually instant. Separated files are cached on disk — about 110 MB per track — and flipping between Original, Acapella and Instrumental after the first separation costs nothing. Set the cache size under Settings ▸ Audio ▸ Stems; the oldest renders past the cap are cleared, never the open set's.

  • Resize rows with the scroll wheel

Hold ⌥ (Alt on Windows) and scroll over a track or an automation lane to make the row under the pointer taller or shorter. A wheel gesture counts as one change, so one undo puts it back.

  • Dropped tracks start on the downbeat

A dropped clip's left edge now sits exactly on bar one: the run-up into the first downbeat is trimmed off the front instead of hanging ahead of the line. Drag the clip's left edge out to bring the intro back.

September 2026

Segments: build a part of a set once, drop it into any set.

  • Segments

A segment is a small set of its own, like a composition in a video editor. In the browser's SEGMENTS section, click New segment, give it a name, genres and a BPM range, and it opens in its own timeline with the library filtered to match. Build the part there, then click Back to go back to your set. Drag the segment onto any set: it shows as one block with one waveform of the mix as it plays, the start and end keys, and the track names along the bottom. Drag it by its header to move it; double-click it to edit it. Your edits update every copy in that set and the saved segment. Hot cues and transitions inside it export with the set. Edit ▸ Convert Selection to Segment (⌘⇧G, Ctrl+Shift+G on Windows) turns selected clips into a segment where they are.

  • Saved mixes

Select clips or a time range and choose Edit ▸ Save Selection as Mix (⌘⌥S, Ctrl+Alt+S on Windows). The clips and the automation under them go to SAVED MIXES in the browser. Drag one onto any set, or double-click it to drop it at the playhead. Clips keep their spacing across tracks and follow the tempo of the set you drop them into. A preview of the waveform shows where it will land while you drag.

  • Fold and resize tracks

Click the arrow on a track's name bar to fold it to a thin strip that shows only its clip names, like Ableton. Drag the bottom edge of a track header to make the track taller or shorter. Both save with the set.

  • DJ filter lane

Each track has a Filter lane next to Volume, EQ and Pan: one knob, low-pass below the middle and high-pass above it, like the filter on a mixer. Draw sweeps into it like any other automation. The middle is fully off, so an untouched lane changes nothing. Playback and the set export both play the filter.

  • Edit a stretch of automation

Drag along an automation lane's header strip, or Shift-drag in the lane, to highlight a range. Then ⌘C, ⌘X, ⌘V, ⌘D and Delete (Ctrl on Windows) copy, cut, paste, duplicate and clear that part of the envelope. Drag a lane's bottom edge to make it taller.

  • Change a transition from its label

The words under a transition, such as blend in and cut out, are buttons now. Click the in word to cycle blend in, cut in and ride in. Click the out word to cycle cut out, fade out and ride out.

  • Play starts faster

QNTZ now decodes the tracks near the playhead in the background, so pressing play doesn't wait for a long file to load first.

  • Linking tracks, and a Linked list

Right-click a track ▸ Link to another track…, then click Link on every track that mixes well with it. Click Done or Stop linking when you're finished. Linking works on rekordbox and folder tracks too, not only tracks in your QNTZ library. The Library window has a new Linked list with every track that has a partner, and a track's link count opens its partners.

Fixed

  • Dropped tracks land on the grid

Many downloads start with silence before the music, and MP3 and AAC files add a few milliseconds of their own. A dropped clip now skips both, so its edge is the first sound of the song and bar one sits on the grid line you dropped it on. Beat detection is more exact too, and a track that the library and the detector call 87 and 174 BPM still gets a grid. QNTZ analyzes your tracks once more after this update.

  • Tempo rides start from the right tempo

A transition's tempo ride could start from a tempo further down the set. In a set at 150 BPM with a 90 BPM point further on, the ride before a blend could dip to 110, jump back to 150 and only then fall to 90. The ride now starts from the tempo the set is playing.

  • Transitions cut the track that's really playing out

After you moved clips to other tracks, a transition could cut a track that had gone quiet and leave the real outgoing track playing over the new one. It now follows whichever track is playing out at the blend.

  • T picks the right side of a blend

Pressing T with the insert marker inside an overlap took the track coming in for the one going out, so the transition it wrote described the blend backwards. It now reads the two the right way round: the later track is the one mixing in, and the one already playing is the one being cut.

  • The first grid line stays visible on a selected clip

Clicking a clip put the insert marker on top of its first red downbeat line and hid it. The marker now sits just beside the beat.

  • Automation points at a clip's edge

A point on the first or last beat of an automation lane's clip was cut in half by the clip border. The whole point shows now.

  • Easier-to-read menus

The light-blue highlight in the track and playlist menus is now the darker blue the other menus use, so the text stays readable.

0.6.4

September 2026Patch

Updates that install on the second try.

Fixed

  • “Access is denied” no longer stops an update

On Windows, trying an update again while the last attempt's installer was still open, or while antivirus was scanning it, failed with “Update failed: moving installer into place… Access is denied”. Each download now gets a folder of its own, so a retry goes through. If you're stuck on 0.6.3 with this error, close any QNTZ setup window, or end QNTZ-0.6.3-setup.exe in Task Manager, and check for updates again.

0.6.3

September 2026Patch

Automation in lanes of its own, and your Engine DJ and Serato libraries.

  • Automation lanes

Open a Volume, EQ or Pan lane and it sits under its track as a clip of its own, headed with the parameter and its value at the playhead. Click anywhere in the lane to drop a point and drag it; a point pulled near 0 dB (or center, for Pan) sticks there, and ⌘-dragging (Ctrl on Windows) goes straight through. Each parameter has its own color. A hides or shows every lane, and the × on a lane closes it without losing its points.

  • Clips move between tracks with their automation

Drag a clip, or a whole selection, up or down onto other tracks and its automation comes along, replacing what was under it. Drag it back home and both tracks are exactly as they were. A multi-clip selection keeps its row spacing and stops at the first and last track. Open lanes fold away while you drag.

  • Import Music from Engine DJ and Serato

File ▸ Import Music now reads your Engine DJ library and your Serato crates, as well as rekordbox. Tracks and playlists come in, and nothing in the other app is changed. A USB drive with an Engine or Serato library on it brings its playlists and crates along too, and fills in BPM and key the files' tags don't carry.

  • Linked tracks

Mark tracks as mixing well together, like rekordbox's Matching. Right-click a track and choose Link to another track…: every other row grows a Link button, so linking a run of tracks is one click each, and Done (or Esc) leaves. A track's 🔗 count opens the tracks it mixes with, and the Library window's Linked list holds every pair you've made. Matching pairs come in when you import from rekordbox or a stick, and a library sync to USB writes them for your players.

  • Choose what edits bake in on export

When a set has edits, the Export wizard has an EDITS section. Each edit exports as one rendered file with its transition effects; you can add EQ automation, volume automation and clip fades, or let each edit use its own bounce settings.

  • Lead In and Insert Silence

Right-click a clip ▸ Add ▸ Lead In adds bars of silence before the track's first beat. Highlight time before or after a clip, and Add ▸ Insert Silence stretches the clip over it. The audio stays where it is on the timeline.

  • Select All, and new track shortcuts

Edit ▸ Select All (⌘A, Ctrl+A on Windows) selects every clip in the set across every track. Insert New Track is now ⌘T (Ctrl+T); Toggle Mix-Out Fade moved to ⌥T (Alt+T). Right-click the empty space under the last track header to paste or add a track. New sets start with Track 1–4 instead of Deck 1–4.

  • Import menus, regrouped

Audio Files… now sits under File ▸ Import Music with the other library sources. The set imports (Ableton, FL Studio, DAWproject and recorded sessions) are under File ▸ Import From DAW.

Fixed

  • File and Edit menus close when you click away

On Windows and Linux, clicking anywhere outside an open File or Edit menu now closes it. Clicking the other menu's name still switches to it.

  • One outline for one click

With the set assistant closed, clicking a clip in a mix outlines just that clip. With the assistant open, its mix partner is outlined as well.

0.6.2

September 2026Patch

A library of your own, and no account needed to use it.

  • Import Music into your QNTZ library

File ▸ Import Music brings tracks in from a folder, a USB drive or your rekordbox collection. Nothing is copied: QNTZ remembers where each file is and reads its tags, and the library keeps it even when that folder isn't browsed or that drive isn't plugged in. BPM, key and waveforms fill in a few files at a time. Folders, drives and rekordbox still sit under BROWSE WITHOUT IMPORTING when you only want a look.

  • Import Audio Files goes to the library

File ▸ Import ▸ Audio Files… (⌘I, Ctrl+I on Windows) adds the files you pick to the library on the left instead of laying them out on the timeline. Drag them into the set when you're ready.

  • No account needed

Everything that works on your computer now works signed out: importing from rekordbox, playlists, Push to rekordbox and Export to USB all use the library on this machine. Signing in is only for the cloud — saving sets to your account, share links and your library on every device.

  • Playlists without signing in

Make, rename and fill playlists straight away — they're kept on this computer. Importing from rekordbox brings its playlists along, and importing one again refreshes it rather than making a copy. A signed-out push to rekordbox leaves your rekordbox cues alone.

  • Save Set as Bundle

File ▸ Save Set as Bundle… writes one .qzip holding the set and every audio file it uses — for handing a set to another computer or person. It opens anywhere QNTZ does; ⌘S (Ctrl+S on Windows) stays the everyday save, and every older set still opens.

Fixed

  • A drive's tracks look like they belong to it

Under BROWSE WITHOUT IMPORTING, a drive's rows now hang off its name on a guide line and read “All files on NAS”, so they can't be mistaken for the library's All Tracks. The + on a rekordbox stick now says New rekordbox playlist.

0.6.1

September 2026Patch

One way out to your players, and waveforms that match them.

  • One Export, one question

File ▸ Export… (⇧⌘R, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows) now opens by asking where the set is going: onto a USB stick — audio, playlist, cues and beatgrids, ready for CDJ, Denon, Serato or Traktor — or into your rekordbox library as a playlist. Pick one and only that path's options show, with ← Back to change your mind. The two old export items are gone from the menus; ⇧⌘U (Ctrl+Shift+U) still goes straight to USB.

  • Name the playlist as you export

The wizard's last step has a PLAYLIST NAME field, seeded with the set's name: it names the rekordbox playlist, and on a stick the playlist in every format you ticked plus the audio folder — so exporting under a new name leaves the earlier export beside it. A name that's already there is caught before anything is written, and the button offers to replace it or to take the free “V2” next to it.

  • Waveforms in your player's colors

Settings ▸ Editing ▸ Waveforms picks how every waveform draws: QNTZ's own blend, CDJ RGB, the CDJ's 3-Band display, or Denon / Engine DJ. Clips, browser rows and link decks all follow, so what you edit looks like the screen you'll play off. Live previews in Settings — click one to use it.

  • rekordbox is somewhere you import from

All Tracks is your library and nothing else — the local rekordbox collection no longer merges itself in. It sits under its own REKORDBOX section in the sidebar until you bring it over: File ▸ Import from rekordbox…, or Import into library on any playlist. Imported tracks are analysed for you (BPM, key, waveform) unless you untick it, a few files at a time with a progress line, so a 2,000-track import doesn't bury the machine. Analyze all warms a playlist without importing it.

  • A menu bar on Windows and Linux

File and Edit are drawn at the top-left of the QNTZ titlebar off macOS — click to open, hover to slide between them. Edit is new there: Undo, Redo, Delete, Create Edit from Selection, Toggle Bounce-Only Clips and Set Downbeat at Playhead, shortcuts and all. File no longer runs off the bottom of the window either — Open Recent Set and Import are submenus, and the menu scrolls.

  • A quieter transport bar

REC, Import Set, the automation lock and Auto tempo moved into a ⋯ menu, with a dot on the button when any of them is lit. New Edit, Import From DAW and Feedback left the bar — File and Edit already carry them — and the zoom buttons are gone, since ⌘+ / ⌘− (Ctrl+ / Ctrl− on Windows), pinch and the tool rail all still zoom.

  • An empty set says what to do with it

A new set opens with a card telling you to drag a track in from the library. It ignores the mouse while you drag over it, and closes with its × when you'd rather have the room.

Fixed

  • A second set doesn't wipe the first on Engine

Exporting to a stick rebuilt Engine DJ's database from scratch, so the next set erased the playlist and tracks exported before it — including playlists made in Engine itself. Exports now merge into what's on the stick, and a database QNTZ can't read is kept as a backup rather than replaced.

  • The mix outline is always drawn

The outline around the clip you selected and the track it mixes with only appeared with the set assistant switched on. It now follows your selection either way.

0.6.0

September 2026

Loops, key moves and a second pair of ears.

  • Loops that reach the players

L drops a hot loop, ⇧L (Shift+L on Windows) a memory loop — the highlighted range, or 4 bars from the edit point. Right-click a cue flag for loop lengths, or drag the loop's out point on the clip. Loops export everywhere a player can read them: rekordbox, CDJ sticks, Serato, Engine — and Traktor.

  • Loops that repeat on the timeline

Drag the tab under a loop's out point to the right and the loop plays again for every loop length you pull — the clip splits, the repeats lie back to back, and the rest of the set moves along. The loop exports as active, so the player runs it itself; the exported track stays the original file.

  • A set assistant beside your selection

Select a clip and a small popover offers what fits: Auto mix + preview picks a first transition style and plays it, Smooth / Bass swap / Quick / Cut / Hold drop swap it in place, ← 8 bars moves the handover. Keep mix accepts, Cancel restores, and everything it does is a normal undo step. Off by default — the Assistant chip in the transport turns it on.

  • Blends land on phrases

Generated blends place the handover on the track's phrase lines: rekordbox's own song structure when the file has it (what a CDJ's phrase meter shows), the waveform's bar-by-bar energy when it doesn't. Volume curves come out equal-power in the fader's real scale, and stay editable points.

  • Key shift that speaks in keys

Right-click a clip ▸ Key Shift…: the rows read 8A → 3A, not −5 st, and the box takes 3A or Bbm as well as a number. Match Key to Previous Track finds the smallest shift that mixes with the outgoing track. Shifts are heard in playback and rendered into the exported copy — players have nowhere to store them.

  • Level a track to the one before it

Gain… on any clip, heard in playback and rendered into exports. G levels the selected clip's loud parts to the previous track — or levels a whole selection to its earliest clip — using the analysed waveform, not the tag.

  • Traktor rides the stick too

The USB export writes a .nml playlist at the stick's root: tags, BPM, key, the beatgrid, and every cue and loop, ready for Traktor's Import Playlist.

  • FL Studio projects open as sets

File ▸ Import FL Studio Project (.flp) reads the playlist's audio clips, their placement and the project tempo — the same way .als imports work.

  • Your rekordbox analysis, reused

A track you've already analysed in rekordbox mixes on rekordbox's own beatgrid and phrases, read straight from its analysis store on this machine or a stick — so what QNTZ lines up is what the CDJ will show.

  • The library opens fast

The browser keeps a local track cache (library.db in the app's data folder), so a big library shows up at once instead of re-scanning. The cache is written by the first full scan, so the speed-up starts on the second launch.

  • Your set survives anything

QNTZ now autosaves: a couple of seconds after your edits settle, a draft is written locally — and to the cloud when the set lives in your library. Reopen after a crash and the draft is restored, the saved version one Undo away. Updating QNTZ flushes a draft first, so installing a release hands you back exactly what was on screen.

  • The BPM chip fixes octave tags

Click any clip's BPM chip for its tempo menu — now with ½ and ×2 for tracks tagged half or double time. The button that lands on the tempo the clip currently plays at is highlighted, so the right fix is one click.

Fixed

  • Automation stays out of the title bar

An envelope at full value drew its line and points on top of the clip's name strip. The lane now lives below it, drawing and editing alike.

  • Points only appear on the line

Clicking above or below the envelope in an existing point's column quietly added a new point. Now only a click on the line itself creates one.

  • Slipping audio leaves the grid alone

⌥-dragging (Alt on Windows) a clip's waveform used to carry the beatgrid along with the audio. The grid now holds its place while the audio slides under it.

  • “Snap markers” always clears the warning

A marker whose nearest bar sat past the end of a trimmed clip snapped to the clip edge — still off-grid, still flagged. It now snaps to the nearest bar inside the clip.

  • Tempo memory cues live in Settings

The None / One per change / Ride + hold choice moved out of the export wizard into Settings ▸ Editing ▸ Export, with the other export preferences.

0.5.0

September 2026

Tempo, transitions and levels, under your hand.

  • Chop between your decks

Highlight a range across two to four stacked tracks and hit Chop: a step grid gates which deck is open on each step, painted by hand or tapped in live on 1–4 while it plays. A checker flags what a CDJ won't reproduce before you get there.

  • The master won't clip

A lookahead limiter on the master catches blends that sum past full scale and holds them at -1 dBFS, so a fade no longer distorts the incoming track. A LIM lamp beside Main lights while it's catching one — your cue to ride a fader, not an error; it reads the mix, not your monitoring, so pulling Main down won't clear it.

  • Edit each transition in place

Click the bars-and-style strip under any clip to set just that transition: how it comes in and goes out, blend length, a double drop, or a hard cut. Every swap in a stack of three or more has its own.

  • Auto tempo, now opt-in

The Song Tempo lane is yours by default: dropping or moving a track no longer touches it. Light the Tempo chip in the transport when you do want every track you drop to ramp the song tempo to match it.

  • Click the BPM to sync

Click the BPM readout to sync the song tempo to the track under the playhead: a ride across the blend, or a jump at its start.

  • Every track in one tempo range

A track tagged 75 in one collection and 150 in another now reads as one tempo: Settings ▸ Editing ▸ Tempo range folds every BPM into a single octave, 80–160 by default, and rekordbox exports come out in that range too. Halve Tempo / Double Tempo on a clip, or ÷2 / ×2 in a deck's GRID bar, turns round any track the fold reads the wrong way. Clips already in a set keep their BPM, but browser tempos may read differently after updating — Off restores the old behaviour.

  • Exports sound like what played

Full-set exports run the same limiter at the same sample rate, so the file matches the set you heard.

  • Minimap zooms like an overview

The arrangement minimap zooms under a magnifier cursor, and dragging to zoom out no longer stalls when the pointer hits the edge of the screen.

  • Dock the tool rail on any edge

The rail walks clockwise round the arrangement with ⌥⌘B or its new rotate button, standing up as a column on the left or right and lying down as a bar across the top or bottom. Drag the popped-out panel to any edge to dock it there; where you left it is remembered.

  • Moved files find themselves

A set whose audio moved folders no longer goes silent: QNTZ searches your library folders for the files by name and relinks them. File ▸ Find Missing Files… searches any other folder and remembers it, and rekordbox tracks that moved are found the same way. A clip whose file still can't be opened says so — FILE UNAVAILABLE, with the reason in the tooltip, and clears itself as soon as the file reads again.

  • Duplicates don't slip through

Adding a song a set already plays warns you and marks both clips with a DUP chip. The Library's new Duplicates view groups every song you hold more than once across the cloud and rekordbox, and a USB track the library already has is flagged before you pull it in.

Fixed

  • Boosted tracks export at full level

Full-set exports no longer clamp a clip's gain at +4 dB where live playback didn't, so an export comes out at the level you heard.

  • The downbeat "1" always draws

A downbeat landing exactly on a clip's own edge no longer vanishes or draws as a sliver at some zoom levels.

  • Unreadable files stop being retried

A file that can't be decoded is no longer re-read every couple of seconds; the library remembers it failed instead of grinding away at it.

  • Context menus stay on screen

Menus opened near a window edge are no longer cut off, and their submenus flip to the other side when there isn't room.

0.4.0

September 2026

Your set, straight onto the stick.

  • Export to USB without rekordbox

Write a set directly onto a stick for XDJ-AZ, OPUS-QUAD and CDJ-3000X (OneLibrary) as well as CDJ-2000/3000: audio, playlist, waveforms, beatgrids and cues, ready to play.

  • Merges into the stick's library

Exports add to what's already on the stick. Other playlists, folders, My Tags and history stay exactly as rekordbox left them.

  • Drive picker and space check

The export wizard lists plugged-in drives with their free space, warns before a set won't fit, and can clear earlier QNTZ exports to make room.

  • Safe eject

Eject the stick safely from the export wizard or the library view as soon as it's written.

  • USB sticks in the Library

A plugged-in stick shows up in the Library sidebar with its playlists and tracks: preview them, load them to a deck, drag them into the set.

  • Tempo changes, your way

Choose whether tempo rides become no cues, one cue per change, or the ride-and-hold pair, in the export wizard.

  • Faster web app

Analysis results now live in your library alongside the audio, so the browser version no longer re-analyses every track on each visit.

0.3.7

September 2026Patch
  • Snappier library browser

Large libraries no longer re-analyse and re-sort on every frame; files that can't be analysed are remembered instead of retried forever.

  • Downbeat marker on every deck

A button on each deck sets the downbeat, the mouse counterpart to ⌘↓.

  • Escape leaves the Transition FX tool

Escape now deselects the Transition FX tool along with the other modal tools.

  • Windows updates ask first

Nothing installs without a yes: Update Now runs the installer with a progress window, Later keeps the download for next time.

0.3.6

September 2026Patch
  • Transition FX tool

A floating card for spin-out delay, echo and reverb tails with a painted diagram and tail-length picker, replacing the clip context-menu flow.

  • Multi-select source filter

The browser's source filter takes any combination of sources, and rescans stream in behind the rows you already have.

  • Export wizard rework

One guided flow for rekordbox and USB exports, including Serato.

  • Time-range selection

The time-range selector replaces rubber-band lane selection, and new projects start with decks in place.

Older builds predate these notes. The blog has the longer story behind most of it.
